AT-S60 NORTEC Altaitire. The Failed Duck Test

on
December 11, 2017

If something looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then, supposedly, it actually is a duck. So – the probability is high, but not a 100% one.
This season results in acquiring a permanent and non-resistible wish to sell and never think about it again.
Yes, it holds the road pretty well. It doesn’t wear off easily – it still looks like almost brand new.
It will suit you if:
— You need an AT tire set at a low price;
— You need tires with a confident tread that doesn’t wear off easily;
— You are able to keep your car steady while aquaplaning;
— You are not discouraged by the need to visit a tire-fitting service every 500-1000 km in order to fix them up.

Now here I’ll give some more details – the thing is, it starts to lose pressure unexpectedly. For instance, one day we covered 600 km off the road, and everything seemed to be fine, and yet we saw one or two flat tires the next morning. Of course, we went to a tire-fitting service to check everything – and there were no damages whatsoever. So we took a grinder with a brush and polished the edges carefully and fitted them back to the car. The first time we had the situation I wasn’t wise enough to ask the guys to check the other tires as well. I never make such a mistake anymore. I get all four checked every time. EVERY 500-1000 km!
— You are fine with the fact that the 1700 weight of the car does not press the empty tire down for more than a half of it;
— You fine with the impossibility of balancing the wheels;
— If the sound of your car manages to muffle the sound of the tires contacting with the road asphalt. The Hedgehog doesn’t really cope with that))

If none of these options happen to suit your situation – I would not recommend this wonder-tire)))))
